MMS of a chinese looking lady being asked to strip and do ear squat. All right! This has to be highlight of events in these past few weeks of incidents. First, it was the chinese national reported being mistreated, then it was the legal action taken against a student for reporting a bribery, the midnight harassment and then now this mms. This is disgracing and the fact that it has made it to the front page in one of the papers today. However, I have not seen the other papers but I guess it would be in the front page of all the papers given the shocking meter, which maxed out in my opinion. The mms was brought to the attention of major parties and everyone is disgusted and even me. But there has not been much comment made regarding the case as there is time needed to ensure the authenticities of the matter at hand.
This has further fuel the distrust and adding to the disgrace as well as tarnished further the image of our law enforcers. I guess many people will have the mindset that this is not news. As to them, this is like a refresher that what they have experience of talked about is true. It is like reinforcing the truth that has been going on in the air in coffee shops, behind closed-door discussions and stuff like that. Although we can see that a change is going on, but to do it, it’s a different story. Let alone trying to change the mindset, which has been embedded in the minds of the society since so many years ago. If you were referring to a program or microchip, then it would be so much easier, just erase and put in the new configurations. Nevertheless, with humans, skeptical minds are always present, which questions and definitely not change so easily.
I was again listening to my morning talk show and there was one listener who called in and made his statement. He said that he was a video game center person in charge. He was apprehended once and according to him, he was asked to strip and did the ear squatting routine. From this, I would conclude that the video has a probability of 80% genuineness.
This is totally an outrage and breach of trust between the society and the enforcing forces. Imagine we entrust them to guard our belongings, shelter us from the misfortunes and provide help when in need. And then we see that they are doing just the opposite. They start abusing the power vested in them and look at the atrocities that have befallen our society. Distrust among society and law enforcers is I guess at a peak with so much going on.
I guess there have been so much being said regarding this matter, but when will the change come. When will we say that all this is the past and we have a brighter future? I totally disagree with the treatment given, not only to them but even criminals, as they are deemed innocent before proven guilty. Even if they are guilty, they are still living human beings, no one has the right to treat another in such despicable ways. I guess we still have a lot to learn in terms of living as one community. It is just not right, what has happened in our society as well as in others. We hear of war, racial issues and so much more. These are just going to tear everyone apart. Why can’t we live just live as one? Why? Why? Why?
Why can’t we have a big nation called humans?
Why can’t we live together?
How much more pain and agony do we need to suffer?
