OK… I know I have not been updating lately. I have been busy. (Excuses, excuses excuses)
I have been addicted to this game called O2jam. I know it’s a teens kind of game, but heck, I still got addicted. It’s a cool game and it sucks out a lot of concentration and skills. Go ahead, I dare you to try it…
Apart from that I had lunch with a friend last week in BTS. Well, when it comes to us guys, or at least my friends and I, we would normally talk bout and look at girls or more precisely described, the female sex which appeals to us. I do not deny it, guys like me, often wander around with our eyes. I do not know why, but I have been doing this ever more often in the recent years. Every time and every where I go, I would normally look out for anyone of the opposite sex, normally those that appeal to my eyes though. I would first start to notice their clothing, then of coz their looks as well as their body. The structure often differs but then these are the few things which I often look at when some one catches my attention. More often than not, the first appealing factors would be the looks, the rest is for me to know and hopefully not for you to find out.
Other than the looks and body which I guess you would know which is appealing, the one other things that strikes me right in the head is the dress code or so to speak, “fashion”. The fashion statement that comes to mind these few years has definitely brought about gaping jaws and wide open eyes. Though I do not show it but I have been fascinated over the fashion statement around our shopping malls, not those displayed on the lifeless mannequin but those on the flesh and blood of our youngsters, teens, adolescents etc. the low cuts, the high cuts, the bare it all, the string series, you name it and you may occasionally bump into them.
I’m not the hardcore conservative person around, I think, so catching up with fashion and something out of the box does appeal to me, but then when you sometimes see the clothes that they put on, you get the feeling of “smack me in the face” thought. Some of these do not even qualify as clothes, more of a decorated piece of cloth. The other thing that I notice is that it shows in the group as young as from lower secondary way up to college youngsters. These do not excludes even guys at that age group. I am not being fair to say that guys do that also, but then I do look at guys too, but just on the clothing wise.
We have evolved from the conservative, until to date, we have a few generation gap which includes, the conservative, the semi conservative and the new generation.
The fashion statement has definitely changed our society in one way or another, be it good or bad. The adaptation was going smoothly, or I think it was, until I started seeing pants which shows you the brand of your under garments or the cleavage of your butt. I always thought that the TV would be a big influence, but then again, I have not seen movies with the backside showing scene so far. If you have, may be you can enlighten me on this matter. Fashion is in a way good. It helps us present ourselves better. It boosts our confidence and self esteem.
I would not want to go into criticizing as I defied my parent when I was a younger lad with long hair, stone wash jeans, jeans with cuts and patches. I guess you will grow to find out what they meant in later years. I still get nagging once a while when I bring back some items for my wardrobe, but then again, I know which are the appropriate for which events. I guess advises always come from the elder and ignored by the younger. That’s the way life goes.
I personally am into fashion, not studying them though, but I just like out of the box kind of concepts. I like to try new stuff, if it suits me. Fashion is very subjective and therefore it’s up to individuals to define the limits and everything there is to it. I hope that the definition will not one day cause fashion to be in the shoes of so many good things fallen in the hands of evil.
