Impact Of A Soul To A Soul From A Soul

I was tagging along with a group of people to Cherating for a weekend get away. I only got to know them after some time there, but I have to say, I liked these people. Very friendly and psychotic, just like me… but don’t tell anyone else, ok. But really, they are really cool and friendly, one of the best trips I have had so far, but then I’ll tell you more bout that next time.

The arrangement of food and accommodation were made in Holiday Villa. I was actually a minority there so I just listened and tried to digest the facts. Apparently these people in this resort knew we were coming about an hour or so before we stepped in their lobby, but our rooms were not ready. One of the rooms has the toilet bowl displaced and another had some other problem with the air conditioning unit. I got to know that the reservations were done like at least 3 months ago… quite disturbing to me. We had to wait like an hour or more in the burning sauna of their lobby. An experience that will turn almost anyone into a horrible green monster and starts a verbal war if not a fist fight with the management.

Then the next horror came, the food was not up to expectation or simply bad. We were actually promised a seaside BBQ dinner but then they wanted to put us indoor so we actually, what the… we disagree and after much persuasion they agreed to setup the BBQ dinner by the sea. Ok then the venue was set but the food was not really my type I would say. Most of the food was cold, the soup was cold and the meat and vegetables were cold. I thought they would heat them like all other buffets or even the small little caterers do. That definitely took the tasty part away if the food was… but my taste bud did not really function as the taste was not to my liking at all. The other problem was that the place they setup was so poorly lit that I could not see the colours of my food, I could only make out what I was eating by the shape.

Then the breakfast came for the next two morning, which I believe was acceptable but still why is it cold… when it was only about 0730 when I sat down to have my breakfast. The only meal I was satisfied was the second dinner which has one tasty dish and soup, but then again it was still hot as I was there half an hour before the dinner actually starts. After that I found it was not hot enough too.

I would not say much about the food as it’s so subjective to label it tasty or hot enough or cold enough. It may just be because of the extremely large crowd during the long weekend, but then again they should be trained for such situations. The one that I could not accept is that the rooms were in a mess when we got there, even though we called an hour or so earlier to tell them we have reached and was having our lunch less than 500 meters from the resort. I don’t know their side of the story and if there is one then I would like to hear it, it’s only fair for me to listen to it before making a full conclusion. As of now I will just conclude based on my experience for the past weekend that I will not go there for a holiday.
