The Ganja Man
The Ganja man

Finished Nasi Ganja
Finished my Nasi Ganja

Was my lunch yesterday… in Glenmarie. I was in Glenmarie doing a User Acceptance Test of one of my projects and although it kind of failed miserably, but my appetite and tummy was quite happy. It’s been quite sometime since I had Nasi Ganja (marijuana) here in Glenmarie. I’m sorry but I really don’t know how to describe the place because they don’t even have a name for this mamak style rice. Ok la let me try to explain how to get there. From the Giant in Glenmarie, drive to the main road where the crossroad is. Then make a right turn and go along the road. Then you will reach a t junction with traffic light… go past this one. At the next traffic light turn left… if you go beyond this turning left will bring you to Federal Highway. back to the turn, after that you turn to your left immediately and go straight. You will see a Chevrolet authorized service center on your right which is a corner lot. This nasi ganja shop is 2 shops before that.

If you know the average nasi kandar, this is quite similar to it, except they add in some crispy, powder like substance which I believe is meat of some sort, or may be not, and that is the ganja I am speaking of. They have a variety of curry ranging from fish, prawn, sotong, chickent, beef, lamb and so many others. Normally my diet here will be fried chicken and fish eggs. By default, they will add curry to your rice no matter what you want in terms of meat and vegetables. The curry they add is a mixture of no less than 8 kinds from all the dishes which are available. Normally such a mixture may upset any tummy, but surprisingly, it does not here, so it’s kind of safe when you see them mix all sort of curry to your rice dishes like a storm occurred and happen to flood your plate.

I must say the food was really tasty and the curry was blended just nice… no tummy upset and definitely a must try if you happen to be in Glenmarie. Like what my malay colleague says when you see a mamak stall which is crowded by even Chinese who are willing to wait for the food… it must be good. I truly believe in that as we do go high and low for food… good food that is.

A word of advice… always ask for “ganja lebih” (more marijuana), you will not regret it. The feeling of high high in the air… heavenly tasty!

ps: It took me a few hours to get the pics up so angel and doc doc better be grateful ah… *grins*

Steamboat With Liquor

It’s located just behind the new Cycle & Carriage along Federal Highway. The restaurant is called New Tin Jian if I am not mistaken… I am just bad with name. I’ll try to give some direction from the Penang bridge look alike bridge turning into Sunway. From here you drive along Federal Highway towards KL. Turn to the left after the new Cycle & Carriage and another left at the traffic light. The restaurant is on you right after the turn.

The order was “Zhou Wo” which is liquor steamboat and some other dishes which included pork trotter. Needless to say these are the 2 famous dishes here and they are wonderful. It’s hard to describe the pork trotter but I have to say it’s crispy and the black pepper thousand island look alike sauce is just mouth watering. Crispee…

Alright, the main dish is the liquor steamboat, I did not ask the waitress or the owner but according to one of my friend who brought us there… there’s like 5 kinds of Chinese liquor mixed in this steamboat. This steamboat is not buffet style and it comes in the order of small medium and large. The good things is that the steamboat is like a clay pot and the clay pot is of one size… so the quality kind of maintains and the different sizes is mainly the amount of food that is provided. The liquor soup is not too strong at first and it’s smells nice and makes a very good and delicious soup.

The ingredients that is given for this steamboat includes crabs and prawns. Apart from that they have scallops and other seafood which I do not know how to name. The seafood that are given are not small but decent to large size. A very good compliment to the liquor steamboat. I drank a few bowl of the soup and we added soup as well… but towards the end, after a few rounds of adding soup and stuff, the soup began to thickens with the smell and taste of liquor. The other point to note is that if you want to drink the soup, try to drink it while it’s hot, as it cools down it gets harder to drink.

It was my first time and I believe that even if you are not into liquor, you should try it, may be once at least. It will change your perspective on steamboat, from the soup to porridge and then now liquor, it changed mine already. What else will they think of next time?

I Had Hot Soup

The night before yesterday. The place is in Seri Kembangan. To get there you need to know the way to the Mines. Then you turn into Seri Kembangan and you will reach a traffic light turning into where South City Plaza is. From here, take the first turn on your left and then the first turn on your right. Go along the road and go straight after a crossroad. After the crossroad you will see one big sign “Ahecko Hot Soup”, something like that, on your left. You can park your car and then head on in.

My last visit there was like last year and they did not have the sign board then. The food is as expected with a little twist which I liked. The hot soup is not like the sechuan hot, this is like the pepper and ginger hot. And surprisingly the hotness increases since my last visit and I liked it very much. For the ingredients you can choose from pork, chicken, internal organs… as you liked it. Apart from that we had the chef’s special tofu and a vegetable stir fried.

We barely managed to finish the food, but I must say it’s one of the best hot soup around. If you are into the peppery hotness and I must warn you, it’s hotter than you can imagine at the moment unless you absolutely like pepper. The other food I must say is so so. We actually brought a friend who came from Singapore for training out eating. If not I would not have gone there too. A bit lame but what to do, work all day, so night go home rest lo.

If you did tried it before, tell me if you liked it?
I know pictures tells tales but I guess getting you to imagine the claypot, the steam from the boiling soup and the hot pepper soup is a challenge… can you imagine it… yum yum yum.

Song: Purest Of Pain
Artist: Son By Four

I’m sorry I didn’t mean to call you
But I couldn’t fight it
I guess I was weak and couldn’t even hide it
And so I surrendered just to hear your voice
I know how many times I said I’m gonna to live without you
And may be some one else is standing there beside you
But there is something baby that you need to know
That deep inside me I feel like I’m dying
I have to see you it’s all that I’m asking

Vida, give me back my fantasies
The courage that I need to live
The air that I breathe
Carino mio, my worlds become so empty
My days are so cold and lonely
And each night I taste
The purest of pain

I wish I could tell you I’m feeling better everyday
That it didn’t hurt me when you walked away
But to tell you the truth I can’t find my way
And deep inside me I feel like I’m dying
I have to see you it’s all that I’m asking

I can listen to this day after day… hour after hour… minutes after minute
The purest of pain is indescribable or imaginable

The day you left
I threw the key away
The key to my heart

Sanity Slipped

Posted under Me & My Thoughts

While I was driving today. I have been thinking a lot these few days… actually all these while, things are just slipping past me, leaving me stunned and breathless. How sometimes I wish breathless would stay… leaving behind the blood and flesh.

This is not the first time and I know it won’t be the last. I guess the last time, would be you know… when I actually draws my last, but then again how can I be sure I would be leaving content… I have no answers nor do I know what questions should be answered.

I went to Klang today to do some support work. It took me about 45 minutes to reach Klang driving at the speed of 90KMH. I don’t know why but I suddenly lost appetite, so skipped lunch until I finished my stuff and one of the person in charged there decided to treat me to KFC, so I had to go out of courtesy that was about 3 I guess. Chatted a bit bout happenings around and then I left Klang.

The drive back was a little high speed and I am still not sure why. I was driving about 130 to 150KMH… but the road just seem to slip pass under my car just as life has been doing. I thought I was trying to test my car again, which I did almost 200KMH and it was less than 2 hours from JB to KL. The speed could increase but then I stopped increasing at this point. I kind of liked the tension then as I recalled, even though the air conditioning was working fine, my hands, forehead and face were actually sweating… and I was actually concentrating on driving only and nothing else, not even a single thought other than driving.

Even now, I could not really concentrate and I always have a play list of songs, and they always reflect my emotions just as now and they tell a story, a story about myself. I do not know. I don’t know why, but I get these moods all of a sudden and it’s dominant and quite persistent. Though I have long have one of these, the sudden return is a bit more than welcomed even though it strikes insanity to the eyes of others, but then sanity left me a long long time ago… as I learnt of the adult way of living life.

I know insanity lurked and waited for so long, suppressed… all these times. I know not what triggered your sudden urge to resurface, but you are most welcomed as you are… a part of me after all, the most memorable ones are hidden and can only be invoked by you and you alone.

Here’s welcoming insanity again while ushering sanity aside…

ThestarMolested by schoolmates

I heard bout this yesterday, but then I keep telling myself it might not be happening. I heard it again this morning, I couldn’t have been listening to wrong information of the same thing 2 days in a row… hhhmmmm.

I was totally shocked and if not for my hands and legs working by themselves unconsciously I would have been involved in a accident. I am still in awe hearing such things about our schools though no here in Kay Elle but in Alor Star, but it’s still not comforting. If you don’t know what I am blabbing about, it’s the case of the female student being molested in class. Yes a female student being molested in class by a group of male students. And the headmaster dared to reply to the angry parent that because his daughter was beautiful then only the male students molested her. If I was the father, I would call for all of my might and hope that I was a barbarian and uppercut him to the ceiling. What an uneducated and uncivilized headmaster he is.

I am no parent but I feel the rage in me. I remember back then during my schooling days, no matter how crooked or naughty or bad was the students then, the most would be gang fights, swearing or may be paying truant. I remember even the notorious ones in my school respected teachers.

This piece of news saddened me as it shows that the young ones are becoming uncontrollable. I remember I welled up so much courage just to hold the hand of a girl, and I sweated like mad during the ordeal. Nervous you know… I’m very very shy. I don’t know why but the thought of sex was even present at that time, at least to me. I would not say no but it was not dominant and definitely I don’t see sex everytime I chat or see or have activities with anyone of the opposite sex.

The very thought of this brings anger and disappointment. It is at these times that I think that the end of the world is close at hand, or may be I am hoping for it. To see that mankind disappears in one meteor impact or what ever catastrophe would be so much comforting than having to walk, talk and live in fear. Better than to see mankind turning into savages running dry of humanity, becoming far worse than any animal or monsters.

I know that this may not be right, to think like that, but I have just seen and heard too much of these things to keep quiet and pretend nothing happened. What should we do with these people? Convict them like adults? Just because they are underage, does that mean they should be dropped of all charges and just be sent to some special schools for people like them? Is it fair that because of them, others should live in fear?

I do not know much of the law of things of that matter but I know this fellow student will be badly affected in her life later and it will take so much effort and time to heal her. I think it’s time for us to think back and may be these so called young adults should carry the weights of what they do on their shoulders. May be it’s time that we should convict them as adults for the things they did.

And I’m not talking about Mickey or his girlfriend Minnie. It’s just not fun when this uninvited guest decides to stay and doing it’s business here and there. It’s not fun to walk in the dark and this squeaking furry creature runs for it’s life and into my feet. I was scared OK, real scared, but luckily it did not sink it’s sharp little teeth to savour my fleshless feet.

It’s been 2 days since this little guest made an unwelcome stay and in the process broke an egg and made a mess of the kitchen. Apart from that, it always went doing it’s business in our washing machine and near the stove. It’s a total mess, I mean I would still not like it to overstay it’s welcome, but then if it was trained and does it’s business in the washroom I guess I might be a little bit more tolerant. However since it does not have that discipline, it’s in the top of the list from our To-Get-Rid-Of list.

We have tried the civilized way where we opened the window so it may just walk out like a perfect gentleman but no it decides to stay a little longer. We have laid some sticky glue stuff to trap it but then yesterday it managed to grab one piece of the bait ala mission impossible 3 style and ran into my feet and scared me. We will try the sticky stuff again tonight hoping to catch it once and for all.

Psstttt… don’t tell it bout our plans ok. If you do, then tell him to leave by the window which will be opened just enough for it to walk out peacefully. I hope they aren’t high tech and surfing the net, imagine them reading my post or did a research on mousetrap!!!

If anyone got good ideas to either catch or negotiate with mice, do let me know ok… successful ideas will be handsomely rewarded…

I Drove On The Track Of Sepang International Circuit
Expressed by zeroimpact on Tuesday, 13th June, 2006, 163, 24 at 21:51:53 161

Posted under Life & Me & My Thoughts

For the eye tired ones: this is a very very very super super long post… so beware of the damage it may do to your eyes and mind. And a record post for me… don’t say I didn’t warn you, proceed at your own risk and discretion

I did 3 minutes and 30 seconds in average every lap on the track in Sepang International Circuit. Pheeewwwww… that’s an experience nothing like when I pushed my own car on the highway.

The date is 11th June 2006, Sunday, I woke up before 6 in the morning and headed for breakfast with just a sausage and bacon, orange juice and a bowl of cereal. Then we set out from the hotel and headed to the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) and reached there around 830 in the morning. I have never been there but my colleague said the way used to enter was the VIP route and then we were directed and parked at the pit. The Pit! This is where all the F1 cars are parked or the Japan GT cars are parked! We grouped upstairs of the pit waiting for our briefing for the day. I just got to tell you this, parked in the pit were 3 tuned and modified Nissan Silvia… a rare car to say the least at these times… waaaahhhh!

*eyes wide… jaw drops… drools all over*

The main instructor is none other than Sean Khoo and at the end of it we were divided into 4 groups to complete our exercises for the morning. There were 4 exercises that we have to complete before lunch and they are in the order our team completed it which are brake and evade, slalom, braking in corner and high speed lane changing. We started the cars and went into the track for the first time, trying to get to our exercise location that is.

Boys and Girls of all ages please do not try this at home even with adult supervision…

Brake and Evade
The setup is like this there’s a path you need to drive through marked by cones and dead straight ahead of it, 5 or 6 meters, are some cones placed as an obstacle. Now what you need to do is accelerate until u reach 80 to 90KMH or higher as you reach the 1st cone and the slam on the brakes as hard as you can and you have to avoid the obstacle. This may sound easy but one of the instructor drove a Sentra without ABS and when he hits the brakes you can hear the car skidding through and it’s going straight at the cones even though the tyres are turned 45 degrees to the left but he managed to not hit it as he is the instructor. The rest of the cars which is Sentras and Xtrails have ABS so it’s so much easier. We drove at about 90 KMH and the slams on the brakes and look at the escape route which is left or right and steer to that direction. Voila, no one hit any cones and we all past this one.

Slalom
The setup has cones lines up in a straight line with the spacing of roughly a car or a little more. What we need to do is zig zag through then at the speed of around 40 to 50 KMH and keeping it constant at the speed you start turning the steering. The catch is no braking and steering technique of push and pull where your hand cannot pass the 12 or 6 o clock position. If you think 50KMH is slow, let’s just put it that the instructor did it once with 50 KMH and everyone got a chance to sit in the car as a passenger decides to start at 30 KMH. The slalom exercise finished with a few cones knocked down by others.

Braking in Corner
The setup is a set of cones just wide enough for a car set at a corner and it’s like 70 degrees corner anticlockwise. You’re supposed to accelerate up to 90KMH and above and then brake at the 1st cone and that cone is at the end of the corner. Basically you need to speed up to the corner as if you did not see it and then slams on the brake and steer along the corner in the between the cones. One of the participants went into the grass when he throttled a little too much.

High Speed lane Change
Setup with cones as well, but it’s like a route on the left and then right and left and right again. Something like the slalom but this mimics the lanes on the road. This exercise requires a speed of somewhat 50KMH up to about 80KMH. The catch again is no braking and maintains a constant throttle and speed. Again this may sound easy, but one of the guys actually ran into the sideway where the grass and stuff are.

These all may sound easy but it’s not easy at all… just the technique of push and pull for steering is hard to achieve. After the exercise we adjourned back to the paddock which is above the pit stop opposite the grand stand for lunch. There we saw some of our stunts during the exercise being played back on the television. We all had some laugh and chatted among ourselves. Met some new friends as well.

After lunch we had a briefing again on the activities for the rest of the afternoon. The activities lined up are the track time, thrill rides and nismo suspension testing. Again the groups are assigned to their specific activities we started with track time with track time attack, nismo suspension testing and then the thrill rides.

Again, boys and girls, please do not try this at home even with adult supervision…

Track Time
We were taken on a tour of the track in SIC which is roughly about 5.5KM in distance. In this tour we were showed the route or the driving lines that the racers normally use in the track here. We followed one of the pace cars which is a Xtrail for 2 laps. This is for us to get familiarize with the racing line before the actual time attack begins. The time attack begins with the pace car in front and us following behind it. I was driving at the speed of a little above 120… I did not dare to step further as it’s my colleague’s car not mine. We all tried our skills in trying to follow the pace car and the racing lines but I guess an amateur like me kind of failed shamelessly. I was going into corners at the speed of a little less than 120KMH, hits the brakes and turns the steering wheels. After the braking it’s like 80 or 90 KMH. In every corner that I take I failed desperately as the car oversteers. It’s when the rear of the cars skids off to the side ala drifting style which should not be happening. Normally I guess we would be scared when that happens but when I was on the track even when the rear drift to the side I just turns it back to avoid a spinout and stepped on the throttle to move forward. May be it’s the track… but then again even speed of 80 on the track feel much more scarier than when you drive on the road twice the speed when you are on the track. I guess it’s most probably because of the corners which are everywhere and you are attacking them every other seconds. Then the time attack ended for our group which I think I did pretty well. I did 3 minutes and 30 seconds in average per lap on Sepang International Circuit track… Yeah!

Nismo Suspension Testing
This is basically 2 cars which is a Sentra and a Xtrail with Nismo’s tuned suspension. I tested the Xtrail against a slalom exercise and I was like drifting left and right. May be I was stepping too hard… I’m just not into 4 wheel drive vehicles. But I got to say that the Nismo tuned suspension does make a difference. The handling is so much better than the on the road specification cars.

Thrill Rides
This the part that kills so if you have heart problems, please skip this part. I have finished with the Nismo suspension stuff and I spotted the instructor Sean Khoo standing there beside a Sentra. I know I could not miss this chance so I ran up to him and hopped into the car. It was a Sentra automatic. He started by swerving to the right and left real hard, I was being thrown to the direction of the car as well. It’s like the stunts you see in television, the swerving, the cornering with handbrakes, reversing the car and spins it 180 degrees. Then he told me, “let do a 360 turn” and I happily replied “OK”. He reverse the car flooring the throttle and then with a twist in using the handbrake and changing the gear we spun a 360 degree turn. He is truly a stunt man with cars. After that, I just felt like another ride so I hoped in to another car doing stunts as well, this time sitting behind. The down side of sitting behind is you tend to be more worried as you do not know where the driver is heading and stuff. The other part is the seat belt just does not work so perfectly as the front seat does.

After these activities, they performed some other stunts for the photographer there and so I watched and took some photos too. They did the rodeo driving, where they drove with one leg in side the car and the other outside, just like riding a horse, hence the name. one of then drove out the Nissan Silvia and did some stunts with it too. He did the rodeo style and spun around rodeo style too. At one time he did the spinning with the door opened! After a few spins, a loud burst was heard, the worn out tyre of the Silvia punctured.

After all has ended, we adjourned back to the paddock club, had some refreshment which is 100 plus. It was a much welcomed refreshment as we were all exhausted, both mentally and physically. Then we had some announcement and debriefing. Along with this was the presentation of the certificate of achievement to all the participants. Now I have a cert, acknowledging me as I droved on the track in Sepang International Circuit… very happy and proud hehe. Oh yah, and I they drew me as the 2nd prize lucky draw. We were given some free gifts as we retired to our cars ready to head home satisfied of all our achievement and lessons learnt.

Some stuff that I should share is antilock braking system (ABS), it let you steer even if you jammed the brakes unlike conventional braking system that will lock the wheels and send you skidding straight. However for those who has it do you know that you ABS is in good condition? Have you used it before? Do you know what it feels like when ABS is working?

I have some photos taken using my U-10 below
