Song – Lagenda (Live)
Artist – Sheila Majid

This is a malay song and one of the first song that led me to listen to malay songs. The song is called “Lagenda”, which means legend. The song was written for all the stars that shone brightly in the entertainment field. They have given their efforts and a lot of their sacrifices to entertain us. They have made their mark in our entertainment industry and captured our hearts. I remember 2 of the most prominent star I really like. They are Tan Sri P. Ramlee and Sudirman Hj Arshad.

They are definitely legends and irreplaceable. We all have our legends in our hearts, well be it national legend or world legend. However there’s this legend that comes closer to our hearts. When it becomes more personal and closer to our hearts they can be anything in our life. A simple pet or just someone we loved dearly or even relatives and families.

I still remember Kat Chai, Cheong Chai and Yee Chai. They are my turtles, red eared terrapin. My post on them is here… “A Bid Farewell, My Beloved”. They are my legends… they were with me all the time and to part with them was the hardest thing. They were part of me, even from the start when I brought them home.

We all have our own legends and they are personal to us, that’s the touch that make us more human. We may have lost them physically but then they live in us… in our hearts. I think of them once in a while and I do wonder how it’s doing at times. They are always in my heart.

The days will be brighter, day after day, soon, very soon.
I’ll always be here…

You may not be here
But you’ll always be in my heart
Just as you always do
My legend, irreplaceable

Song – 男人不该让女人流泪 (Man Should Not Let Woman Cry)
Artist – 苏永康 (William So)

This is a Mandarin song and the title is “Man Should Not Let Woman Cry”. I’m not good in translation so if you search for it definitely you would get a better one from there. This is basically tells of a guy who wants to take care of someone who has been hurt before, hence asking to be trusted as man should not let woman cry. Asking to be trusted he shows his affection and his love telling her that a man should not let a woman cry.

In life or at least as I have lived it I’ve always been told that man should be strong and protect woman. I still believe in this but I’ve come to realized to sometimes man do need a pillar to lean on. We have so often hear of this saying, ok may be the Chinese community will know this and not all, the saying goes like this “Man bleeds but not tear”. I’ve heard this too many times and well as I see it, I can tell you that I definitely have not seen many guys crying compared to girls. I believe I have not seen guys cry before as a matter of fact.

I’m not sure if it’s because of the perception that has been given by the society that man should not cry, man should be strong, and that so forth put a crying man to death sentence. Does crying make you any weaker? Does crying make you any less manly? I’d never know.

I believe that in any way, we should not make anyone cry be it guys or girls. I know that there are times when things are just unavoidable and unintentional, but then if it can be avoided, it’d be the best. I know I’m all talk here and I know that too. It’s because I did learn many lessons the hard way and of coz I did put sorrow in some people in my life. I’m a little wiser now, or may be a little more human, I not to hurt anyone in anyway. Well, I’m still lousy at this, and I’ll be trying to learn this as I carry my worn out body along this journey.

Man should not let woman cry
What do you think?
No one should let any one cry
No one can make you cry…

I’m really tired
Seriously
I’m dead tired, really I am
I hear words
Conversations
Dead silence
I hate silence
I need silence
I just need sleep
I’m going to bed now
No dreams please!!!

Greg Lyons At Mezza Notte 21st September 2006

I found a new hang out place and it was great. It’s this restaurant called Mezza Notte at the Asian Heritage Row. I’ve never been there before, but it was introduced to me by some one I just met previously in Bangkok Jazz. She mentioned that it is a nice place and I told myself I have to try it out.

I was there with a few friends and of coz, normally we frequent places which features some musical show. This time it was Greg Lyons, a saxophone player. The place is really cozy and nice. The ambience in the restaurant is really nice and spacious. It’s not like the normal crammed up restaurant where you can hit other people just by moving your chair in mere inches. Another thing to note is that the staffs are very professional. Thanks to them we got seated right in front of the band.

The night was filled with music by the musician which comprises of Greg Lyons on saxophone, Adriane Palikat on drums, Ch’ng Wee Lern on keyboards, Joseph Arnesto on bass and vocals by Lydia Chew. The music that were played was jazzy, nice and soothing and a very good combination. But then the only things I find a little disturbing is that the vocals was not strong enough. I could barely hear her vocals most of the time, but overall it was a good gig and I was glad I went.

It was really a night to remember and of coz the place is great. Thanks Adriane for telling me about the place. I’m really glad you told me about it. You‘re a good musicians and it was great to have been chatting with you. Hope to catch you again soon…

I’m sure one of the song you have not heard before, at least my version except the handful few, I’ve listened to that song for about 10 years already and I’ve not got bored at all.

Well I have to tag seven people now to see what they listen to as they have to provide a list of their seven songs… well here goes

Pink Cotton
Chen
Angel

I’m only tagging 3 coz I just like to break the rules… as always… or maybe I just don’t have the resources…

Apart from that is the tag I’m suppose to do for Pink Cotton

I really do not have much to show on books and shelf hence I will leave you with this photo of this book that’s been with me for many many years. And a story to accompany it. Will not be tagging any one on this so can continue to read on

Book

Here’s leaving you with a story from this book…

Bedtime
“Don’t forget me,” says the toothbrush.
“We’ll make you clean,” say the soap and face cloth.
“I’ll dry you,” says the fluffy, white towel.
“Put us in a neat pile,” says the clothes.
“Am I packed for tomorrow?” asked the satchel.
“Please set my alarm,” says the clock by the bed.
“Leave me open a little,” says the window.
“Don’t read too late and leave me on too long,” says the bedside lamp.
“Let me into your warm bed,” begs the old teddy bear.
“Sleep well and sweet dreams,” says mother quietly.
“Yes, I’m coming,” whispers sleep.

Sleep well everyone, every one of you…

Silver Hits Yellow

Posted under Fear & Joy & Me & My Thoughts

Now remember I was telling about my aquaplane or under steer experience 2 weeks ago, today I kind of saw how I would have ended up if I did not pull through the corner.

I was driving back from work today and as usual I reached the traffic light turning into my housing area. The traffic was slow and I slowed down too. As I approach the turn I caught a glimpse of a silver car and a yellow car, roughly near where I skidded the last time. As I passed by, I saw a young lady alighting from the silver car and a middle aged lady from the yellow car.

Basically there was a collision where the silver car knocked the yellow car. I could see the silver car’s left front wheel crashed into the side concrete. What surprised me more was the yellow car. There was only one wheel left touching the tar road. Most of the car body and the other wheels where actually on the concrete base lifted from the road

I do not know what exactly happened, but this is what I could think of. The yellow car made a turn and the silver car was right behind, but somehow knocked the yellow car, sending it to fly up on the concrete base. To my glance I believe that no one was hurt in that incident, and I am grateful for that.

Come to think of it, I could have ended up there myself if I was not lucky enough as that car was mere inches of my back when I suddenly managed to pull of from that concrete base. Well I was lucky but the two earlier today was not so. Any how I am still glad that no life was hurt nor taken away as there were young children in the yellow car.

I guess we can never be too careful when driving, even myself. I’m just glad I was ok and everything and everyone around me is ok. Even you my friend, every one of you. May you all be safe, happy and live life to the fullest and hopefully I can join in the fun too.

Mia Palencia At Bangkok Jazz 16092006

I first listened to Mia Palencia when she sang during the Starbucks Music Series which I posted a while ago at The Curve. She has a beautiful voice that entertained the crowd then and this time she did just the same thing with the crowd in Bangkok Jazz.

She was dressed more formally than the last meet, well all of the musicians did dressed more formally. May be it’s the location and the event. The event was one that I have not seen before until now. It was a big group.

Mia was flanked by a big band of 8 musicians which includes Fly on bass and Adriane on drums. It the normal routine where the band played 2 sessions with a break in between. Mia’s latest album was there on sold and it’s title was called “Sayang”. In between the break I met up with Eugene from alldatjazz.com and chat a bit with the musicians.

The night was wonderful and it was filled with the vocals of Mia with her choices of English and Malay songs. As she ended the last song a big encore was being thrown at her, leading to another song before the end of the night.

After the show, I was still mingling around and congratulated Mia and spoke to the drummer before I left for home. The night drive was serene as I listened to my CDs of Juwita and Pete. That was another night of pleasure to the musical side of my ears. A great applause to Mia for a show that amazed me with the amount of musician and a great one at it too.

Noryn Aziz At Alexis - 15092006

It was another night out with some friends to Alexis, a place that I have been visiting quite frequently of the last few months. I’ve been to several gigs and met some really nice people around.

This time at Alexis was Noryn Aziz, flanked by some great musician like John Thomas on drums, Tok Khon on Keyboards and Julian Chan on saxophones. We had our dinner there in Alexis that night and then waited for the performance to start.

It was really an awesome start as Noryn starts singing and the crowd just hyped up. The vocals that she presented were just astounding and somewhat different from those that I’ve been listening to. A powerful voice, with authority, which in term make up for the lack of sweetness.

The night ended with the last song sung by Noryn. Another night of live gig around town. I’m just glad to have good company and also knowing so many new friends as I venture out. I’m just glad I have the chance to enjoy all these, with the company that I want to.

Song – Please Be Careful With My Heart
Artist Jose Mari Chan And Regine Velaquez

If you love me, like you tell me
Please be careful with my heart
You can take it, just don’t break it
Or my world will fall apart
You are my first romance, and I’m willing to take a chance
That till life is through, I’ll still be loving you
I will be true to you, just a promise from you will do
From the very start, please be careful with my heart

I love you and you know I do
There’ll be no one else for me
Promise I’ll be always true, for the world and all to see
Love has heard some lies softly spoken
And I have had my heart badly broken
I’ve been burned and I’ve been hurt before
So I know just how you feel, trust my love is real for you
I’ll be gentle with your heart, I’ll caress it like the morning dew
I’ll be right beside you forever
I won’t let our world fall apart
From the very start, I’ll be careful with your heart

You are my first (and you are my last) romance
And I’m willing to take a chance (I’ve learned from the past)
That till life is through, I’ll still be loving you
I will be true to you (only to you)
Just a promise from you will do
From the very start (from the very start)
From the very start (from the very start)
Please be careful with…(I’ll be careful with…)
(your) (my) heart….

Please be careful with my heart
As I’ll be careful with your heart
I may have wronged in the past
But now I have learnt from the past

Let me take care of your heart
Let me caress it in loving touch
Don’t close your heart
Leaving me out

My last your first
My first your last
How can we tell
How can anyone tell

Michael Jackson – Man In The Mirror (Live)

The exploitation of children has gone out of hand in the many recent years and especially with the bloom of internet. No doubt man always has the ability to create or I would say find the bad in everything good that has been created. Internet pornography is one of it, but to involve and abuse of children, it’s just gone too far.

The exploitation and abuse of children has just gone to a stage that everyone should be worry about. The innocence of the children has been exploited and thus destroying all humanity that runs in our blood. How can we do this to our children? Is money that important? Is there no humanity left in some of us but the instinct of survival of a beast?

I’m against any exploitations or abuse of children and hence I have lighted my candle in help to support this. I hope that you can help support and make the future brighter for our children and our children’s children.

I salute all those that are helping the victims put their lives back together. I hope we can all make a difference and it’s not just against child pornography, any kind of abuse to children is intolerable. Let’s make a brighter future for all our children and our children’s children.

Let make a change for a better place. Let’s start with the person, the person in the mirror.
