Song – The Rose
Artist – Bette Midler
Some say love it is a river
that drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razor
that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love it is a hunger
an endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
and you it’s only seed
It’s the heart afraid of breaking
that never learns to dance
It’s the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It’s the one who won’t be taken
who cannot seem to give
and the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live
When the night has been too lonely
and the road has been too long
and you think that love is only
for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows
lies the seed
that with the sun’s love
in the spring
becomes the rose
A recommendation by Selba and a great song indeed. This song has been playing in my mind recently and made me think of so many things. Things that I have been ignoring as things that I have killed in the past.
It’s just touching to listen to such songs or so to speak at this very moment, this song. The never ending love may be buried beneath the snow but then with love and care, it shall bloom in to a beautiful and enchanting flower
May be you could tell me…
When you listen to this song
What do you think
What’s on your mind
What do you feel
What’s in your heart

Even though hearts may be broken, but the thing that I’ve always believed is that it could be patched up again, and emotions can flow through it once more.
Life is nothing without love. I guess love hurts, very, very much but it’s beautiful at the same time.

Very well said
Patching and most of the time a new one springs out
Love and hurt… inseparable

Will you sing it for me at a karoake?
Love this song. You should try listening to Bette Midler’s “In My Life” - the lyrics means a lot to me.

listened to that on the radio not too long ago. I think it’s one of Bette Midler’s best songs.

It’s a beautiful song which brings me back to the old nice feeling… It’s one of the most hard time in my life, during that time I had never listen directly to The Rose - Bette Midler but I sang it together with my classmate in choir class. And everytime we sang it, it gave me a good mood after feeling down.

Well you should have an inkling what’s in my mind. Darn. Wish you’re not so far away, need someone to lend a shoulder actually. Sniff.

I’m always here and there as you know too
Lean on me as you wish
Miles apart maybe, but the distance between is so small at times
