I was asked this question by jonzz and with his post of human candle, what is my human candle like? I’m sure everyone has their perspective or what you think of when you hear the word human candle. Some may say horror stuff or whatever they can associate it with.

You’re like a candle, burning yourself to light up other’s path
Sounds familiar? I have only heard of the malay version on TV before and it’s truly a phrase that comes to mind when human candle is being uttered. So jonzz, that is my so called version of human candle.
A candle that burns itself to light up the path of those around it. Appreciated or not, it will just burn itself in the flames that brightly lights up.

human candle.. to me that’s someone who’s selfless, always burning (giving), and never run out of flame (hope)..
i believe each of us is a human candle to one or another, it’s just a matter of acknowledging it..

personally tho i burn myself up only for myself. selfish i know. yet i try to illuminate as many others at the same time i guess. or perhaps sometimes for a cause/person i feeling strongly positively for.

shamefully, me not yet that 伟大, cos now i’m oso struggling to build myself a path to walk on! but it doesnt mean that i’ll not be a candle for all my life. i will, if only i hv the capability to do so… maybe not now, but it will be in the future… so it’s up to everyone to see when will it be? a yr later? a decade later? or even a century later! LOL

LOL! Kidding… personally, I think life is actually more meaningful if you live for others, rather than yourself. So if you make other people’s lives more meaningful, then good for you!

I guess that we all will be human candle at some point in our lives. Brightening up another person’s life and leading them toward brightness is a wonderful and joyous thing to do.
