Now, that is what this thing says of me. It says I’m a skunk or I was a skunk in my past life. I don’t know how true it is but then if you believe in karma, most probably you’d have my thoughts.

You Were a Skunk

You carry yourself with sensuality and a flowing energy. You have a great reputation, and you follow your own (good) advice.

What Animal Were You In a Past Life?

I’m not really sure if I was a skunk or not, but then it’s just fun to play games and well, it’s still the festive season so let’s all be jolly and do tell me what animal you are. Of coz apart from the cicak _butt which I found this thing originally from.

If you have the time do try it and let me know of yours. Any way, I’ve got another presentation in less than an hours times from now. I think I should be getting ready for it and well, may be get my self a nice tall signature hot chocolate from Starbucks, may be from Michele. So here’s wishing everyone a great weekend ahead so you can prepare yourself for work the next week if you are still on leave.

Another try gave me this, now what was I really in the past…

You Were An Owl

You are stealthy and secretive - no one knows the true you.You are a seeker of freedom, and you are comfortable with your dark side.

I’m back to work already and am sitting in the office now. It’s only the fourth day of Chinese New Year which is just so weird for me as I have never start work so early before. Well, I guess there is always a first time.

I have not been sleeping much the past few days with all the excitement surrounding me and my relatives. Here’s something that I saw at jonzz’s site. Try it all and have some fun. Tell me your hidden talents too.

Your Hidden Talent

You have the power to persuade and influence others. You’re the type of person who can turn a whole room around.

The potential for great leadership is there, as long as you don’t abuse it.

Always remember, you have a lot more power over people than you might think!

Five Things

I got tagged I think previously by chen, so I think I better not let it go into the next lunar calendar. Its 5 things you don’t know bout me. Well I’m not sure if you want to know bout me and if I got five things to reveal or not for that matter. However I will try a bit.

  1. For starters, I will repeat this again, I am krazy. I do a lot of krazy stuff when I was younger and even now. You shall not know anything from here, though.
  2. I am very attracted to the world of animation and computer graphics, to a point that they appeal more to me more than humans can. You do not need to know in what form, thank you.
  3. I warm up to people real fast at time, with an hour down the road, I could be hugging a totally new stranger. So if a hug is needed can come to me anytime.
  4. Almost everyone knows that I’m a slow motorist, I drive slow and adhering to the rules. However to the few or when I’m alone, I’m a speed demon with a little skidding here and there. Live dangerously I say.
  5. I have been mistakenly for a lot of identities. I have been mistaken for the other gender, any other ethnic and religion other than what I am. I’m not sure why, can you tell me why?

Alright, there you go, nothing else left. I guess the next hours till midnight I shall be content. I’m still waiting for mum to say let’s go and we shall have KFC or Mcdonalds coupled with some dishes that mum will make for reunion dinner later. Well, this way, mum can have it her way preparing some dish and at the same time not worn out with all the work before, during and after the dinner. A little different but I guess, from tradition, but I know it will be good. Happy Chinese New Year to all!

Today’s the eve of the traditional Chinese New Year. A tradition that has been carried on thousands of years ago. This is celebrated worldwide by all Chinese observing the lunar calendar. I watch Fox News yesterday and they were talking about the citizen in China trying to get home for this event and the words that caught me was, that it’s the largest migration and it was equivalent to the population of Russia.

Tonight, the eve of Chinese New Year, we have the traditional reunion dinner, where all the members of the family gather and sit down to have dinner. During this dinner, everyone would just gather and have a warm meal, no matter what is served, but the company of our loved ones. To me, it does not matter if the dishes are just simple dishes or exquisite dishes, but the presence of every member of the family sitting down to have dinner.

I find that a lot of us have forgotten this. We take things for granted most of the time. Truth be said that this reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year is a yearly occasion, but we should try to make every just like it, just sitting down with the family, may be dinner, lunch or even tea.

During the olden days, every family would spend time to cook for dinner. Everyone would help mum, doing whatever they can. And I can tell you the process is so much more rewarding than the dinner itself. Nowadays, we have opted for dinner at restaurant to eliminate the chores of cleaning up and so that it does not tired those especially if they are working even on the eve of Chinese New Year.

I am home now, and will be having my dinner with my family, my dearest and loved ones. Here I wish all of you a hearty reunion dinner for all my Chinese friends and family and a Happy Chinese New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai! To all my friends that are not celebrating this festive event, have a great holiday if you get one, have a great weekend and have good meals all the time with your loved ones.

Happy Chinese New Year!
Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Poison – Every Rose Has It’s Thorn

Click here… to listen to the song

Song – Every Rose Has It’s Thorn
Artist - Poison

We both lie silently still in the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
We feel miles apart, inside
Was it something I said or something I did
Did my words not come out right
Though I tried not to hurt you
Though I tried
But I guess that’s why they say

Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn

Yea it does

I listen to our favorite song playing on the radio
Hear the DJ say love’s a game of
Easy come and easy go
But I wonder does she know
Has it ever felt like this
And I know that you’d be here right now
If I could have let you know somehow I guess

Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn

Though it’s been a while now
I can still feel so much pain
Like the knife that cuts you
The wound heals, but the scar, that scar remains.

I know I could have saved our love that night
If I’d known what to say
Instead of making love
We both made our separate ways

And now I hear you’ve found somebody new
And that I never meant that much to you
To hear that tears me up inside
And to see you cuts me like a knife I guess

Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn

The Rose With A Thorn

The life of a rose
Being showered with love and care
Stemming out from a little seed
Standing strong with healthy colours

Blooming brightly with the sun’s ray
Red as blood, fully maturing
Stemming with a thorn
A single thorn

Piercing through the flesh
Dye of red on the stem
Red of blood, the colour it blooms
Hurts more than ever
Than those with many
Needle sharp thorns
Supposedly easier to handle
The rose with a thorn

Dinner At Carnivore
Expressed by zeroimpact on Saturday, 10th February, 2007, 40, 06 at 23:34:05 273

During my short stay in Singapore, I had the pleasure to dine in at a restaurant called Carnivore. It’s a Brazilian restaurant. It was a buffet and I saw waiters walking around with spear kind of tool with a knife. It’s like grilled meat on a stick, kebab style.

We started with the buffet with around inside the restaurant which consist to my surprise at first as there is no meat at all. It was all starters and salad like palm’s heart, corn, potatoes and other non meat dishes. Even though only vegetables, the corn and palm’s heart tasted real good.

As we sat in the open air table with a bottle of red wine, the waiters came and served us, although it was a buffet dinner. To me it was buffet at the salad bar. Well I thought that it was a normal buffet but then the restaurant really live up to its name of Carnivore. The waiters brought and served us a lot of meat. We were served with lamb, sausages, pork, bacon, beef hump, salmon fish, grilled pineapple, chicken, chicken heart and many more. Well not all of them are meat but that was a lot of meat from various part of the animal.

The food was really good and of coz, the amount was like bottomless pits. The meat just keeps coming and coming and coming. The hearty meal took around 2 hours and it was really one that I enjoyed as it was good food coupled with wine. The best part is the company of my colleagues which I guess I could only wish for, but it came true for me. A really good restaurant for the meat eaters, definitely.

I think I really need to self discipline myself. From the hectic schedule that I had I still managed to like sleep late at night and now arrived in the office portraying a panda. Migraine’s hitting me like no body’s business. Sleepiness will come soon and I have no way to remedy it.

I need to rest and take a break. From everything for a moment, therefore I may be away for a while. Will be back soon but as for now, the rose with a thorn will be my company. Pain’s bearable and it should be temporary. Take care. Hugs!

Singapore Two Day Trip
Expressed by zeroimpact on Tuesday, 6th February, 2007, 36, 06 at 23:09:54 256

Posted under Life & Me & Work

Today was the end of the hectic Singapore trip and well I’m back at home now. Actually touched down around eight earlier and reached home around a quarter past nine. Had to have dinner although I so wanted to skip it to support my diet.

Now I know there is this thing called shuttle or something like that. We were a little bit earlier than scheduled and we tried to get an earlier flight which is the shuttle I mentioned. We managed to get seat on the next available flight which is around seven rather than the nine flight home.

The trip was really, really tiring as I could not sleep well the day before and then yesterday lasted till ten, well, including dinner which I consider as socializing. We adjourned to our rooms after that and as there were no Starbucks around we just bathed and then decided to bunk in a sharing environment. Don’t really ask why, all I can say is one word, spooky. We kind of left two rooms empty.

The next thing I know, we got the internet access enabled for our room. Well, my colleague actually wanted to read emails and well, for me, blogs I think was in my mind. So some of you caught me online last night and then I just went to sleep, till the next morning which is today.

Today started with breakfast and then adjourned to another presentation and we did not even break to go out for lunch. Well, at least pizza was served in opposed to the lunch by the river Singapore I think. Should have had it by the river. Well, then halfway through the second session, headache kicked in and sleepiness due to the traveling and lack of sleep almost prevailed. Then we ended the session a little early as we needed to go to the Changi Airport.

I wanted to mail some of you to meet up, but I guess I was really tight and therefore could not do so. I shall see if the next one would be better so meeting would be an agenda. You’ll be the first in my list misti. And carrying a lappie around is no fun and the Changi Airport needs you to take it out to be scanned separately. New rulings they say.

Tiring Day 05022007
Expressed by zeroimpact on Monday, 5th February, 2007, 35, 06 at 23:49:47 284

Posted under Me & Work

I’m now in the hotel and it’s almost midnight. I did not get much sleep last night, barely two hours. Today had been some sort of hell as I had to fly here to Singapore and straight away started with the presentation and the day ended just now around ten. it has been tiring, really, really tiring.

Tomorrow will be another tiring day as presentation starts again after breakfast and will need to rush things so to not miss the flight back home tomorrow evening. I’m really sleepy now and I think I shall retire now.

I could not execute any of my plans as this trip is really tight on time. I am hoping I will come another time and will be able to meet up with some of the people that I have been wanting to meet. Till I get back then.
