Steed’s back

Actually Steed’s been back for a while, and has been doing well. Steed sounds so much better now and I’m really glad.

Did I mention anywhere, somewhere, sometime that I get irritated quite easily. Well yesterday me and steed revved throughout our way home after some frustrations. It was a good one, which got a few others joining or was it they started it. Don’t remember and don’t care.

It has been sometime since I had that feeling, the feeling that the dead pedal seems to gone in a little when I reached home. The sensation was incredible and the excitement from steering and gear switching turned out to be stressful.

It was not really fast and furious type but it was a little bit high speed. Steed’s been great and still good at it. I reached home, smiled as I gave Steed a pat. I was amused and at the same time, my heart was still beating fast and pumping at high pressure.

Welcome back Steed!!! :)

I was tagged by Mimi Lenox, the queen of memes, this is an honour. Well, I think most of you would know bout this already so the rest is just formality, of coz not the content, they are personal and my copyright as well as patent.

Alright, there are like 75 songs and then there’s some top charters, I am not a music god during that time, so I don’t know all the songs, so I will just omit those that I don’t know.

1. One Sweet Day – Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men
• Yes, I remember this song, a karaoke favourite with a group of girls of coz
2. Boombastic – Shaggy
• Mr boombastic, it was like theme song of the year with its ads for Levi’s jeans, psstttt, and I have a file custom made myself with cut outs from it’s poster, caught some attention in classes with that
3. Run Away – Real McCoy
• I’m not sure bout this song, but another that kicked in is sweet dreams… sweet dreams are made of these, who am I to disagree
4. I Could Fall In Love – Selena
• Don’t recall this song, but was introduced to this singer with a song titled dreaming of you later, much later. *sweet*
5. Fantasy – Mariah Carey
• Yeah, Mariah Carey was hot, then she got bigger and hotter, and this song, just brings me to fantasy land especially when revising for exams
6. Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman – Bryan Adams
• I think I got to know this song much later too, his voice, incomparable
7. The Woman In Me – Shania Twain
• Another singer which I think I got to know later, from this moment, totally takes my breath away, especially the MTV
8. Kiss From A Rose – Seal
• This song, yes, batman, one of my favourite heroes, ba la la la la la la la
9. Sexual Healing – Max-A-Million
• I thought this song is by Marvin Gaye or something like that
10. Scatman (Ski-Ba-Bop-Ba-Dop-Bop) – Scatman
• Rapping on, another cool song that I try to rap to apart from the cool Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer
11. Gangsta’s Paradise – Coolio
• Another movie theme song that I like, yo Coolio,
12. Total Eclipse Of The Heart – Nikki French
• This song caused a big confusion as there has been many singers singing this, I remember one time when we almost had a jug of beer just by guessing the right singer, but dang, we were a jug less or may be a jug too much
13. Colours Of The Wind – Vanessa Williams
• Pocahontas! I’m a big fan of cartoons and I simply love this song which brings out the colours of the wind, whenever they start blowing with the song playing of coz
14. Good – Better Than Ezra
• The song does not really ring a bell but the name of the band does
15. Short Short Man – 20 Fingers
• The one that I know is Short Dick Man, I wonder if it’s the same song. This one’s for julee
16. Waterfalls – TLC
• A very soothing song which I love, and of coz the MTV of the girls singing.
17. Exhale (Shoop Shoop) – Whitney Houston
• Another movie theme song I think, how can you not love her voice
18. Dreaming Of You – Selena
• A very nice song which I cherish, though I only listens to this song way later
19. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me – U2
• Oh yah bay beh, hold me thrill me kiss me but not kill me, what else, Batman with Mr. Freeze I think, Arnold’s there too
20. You Oughta Know – Alanis Morissette
• The first female rock artist that I love, and her songs, speaks to me like an inner voice. Not the typical sweet voice which I love
21. Lick It – Roula
• Oh yeah, lick it, another favourite song, but not sure if it’s the same song. I guess I get to know songs after their time
22. Hand In My Pocket – Alanis Morissette
• I simply love all her songs

December 3, 1994 - January 13, 1995: On Bended Knee - Boyz II Men
• These guys were a phenomenon back then, acapella if the genre if I’m not mistaken
February 25 - April 14: Take A Bow – Madonna
• Madonna is no doubt an icon which cannot be denied, her songs was good
June 3 - July 7: Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman - Bryan Adams
• Got to know this song late also, but nonetheless, a beautiful song to feel love with
July 8 - August 25: Waterfalls – TLC
• TLC, nice girls, good music and I forgot what the lyrics is all about now
August 26 - September 1: Kiss From A Rose – Seal
• Batman, whenever I listen to this song
September 2 - September 8: You Are Not Alone - Michael Jackson
• Michael Jackson, need there be any more words, this song captured hearts, and of coz, it is used to capture the hearts that I want to
December 2, 1995 - March 22, 1996: One Sweet Day - Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men
• One sweet day, how many sweet days it brought me *smiles*

The rules:

1. Go to www.popculturemadness.com
2. Pick the year you turned 18
3. Get yourself nostalgic over the song´s of the year
4. Write something about how the song affected you
5. Pass it on to 5 more friends

As you see, I bended the rules already and well, whoever wants to reveal some of their favourite songs, then feel free to do it and let me know. I want to know your music.

Seminar at Genting Awana
Expressed by zeroimpact on Wednesday, 20th June, 2007, 170, 25 at 10:34:21 690

Posted under Food & My Thoughts & Work

I stayed there for 2 nights and well, other than the weather with even the rain, is better than most of the things there. It was a business trip, a seminar which I attended with two other colleagues.

We left for Genting Awana on Friday, after lunch, as there were still things to do in the office before we left. We had a GPS device and it’s kind of a cool device which could tell you the shortest route to any destinations. It even reroutes when you take a different route or if you mistakenly went to the wrong route. Now that is a cool device and when I say it tells you I mean it really speaks to you, not you have to look at it and end up hitting someone’s car from behind. The only downside of this device is that throughout the journey it kept telling me to slow down, I mean what the hell, if it was not a device and proof to have some use, I’d just throw it out of the window, and of course it was not mine too.

The whole journey took a little bit more time that usual as there was a heavy downpour last Friday and I was blinded in seconds when water was splashed over my car. We reached our destination about thirty minutes after three, got our room cards, key cards, and checked in. The first disappointment is that there was no broadband, or even wireless access. Now what is a laptop good for when there is no connection, games and movies, what else.

After the short rest, then we went for buffet dinner, oh did I mention it was all expenses paid. Basically all meals are provided but the main disappointment is, the food was bad, plainly said. The food was not heated right or enough, and well, may be it’s just me and my colleague, we just find the food is not up to standard at all. Basically the meals there were just to fill an empty stomach so it does not growl in the middle of the night or during the presentations.

The second day was filled with presentation and tasteless food. I can tell you that its tiring as the presentation starts from nine in the morning till five in the afternoon and gosh, on a Saturday. Then we have some social time with some of the other participants and from there I got to know more people and also knowledge.

The BBQ dinner after the presentations was slightly better but still bad. The BBQ dinner is actually a Hawaiian style cooking called IMU. They cook all the meat like chicken, beef, mutton, potatoes and other food in a bricked place right by the pool. They constructed a pit underground below this bricked place, where charcoal, rocks and banana stems are located. Another point to note is there is no oil used in this cooking style, NO OIL.

After the dinner, we just left for our rooms and everyone was dead tired. We decided not to take breakfast or participate in the treasure hunt while the others go for golf. Just could not bear eating in that place for another meal, starving sounds better at that time.

We also did not have any luck, there were loads of prizes for lucky draw and stuff but the three of us just don’t have the luck. As for me, I don’t have luck for I have never got anything from lucky draws in seminars.

That concludes my weekend in Genting Awana, a business come relaxing trip, well, sort of. I’m not sure if it’s because of the crowd during the weekend or that is the quality they can come up with, but if you want to starve and relax, I guess this is a good place. So ladies, why go to slimming center and sweet while you can stay here for a week in the chilly air and cool environment.

Yeah I know, I’m crazy, so bite me.

Dad, Mid Autumn Festival And Meetings
Expressed by zeroimpact on Tuesday, 19th June, 2007, 169, 25 at 08:30:27 604

Posted under Life & Me & My Thoughts & Work

I’m heading for a very hectic day today. I’ve set up three meetings today, just in the morning, back to back. Time is pressing hard on me. Decisions need to be made and discussions need to be carried out. And not to forget work has to be too at the same time. My calendar seems to be full most of the time now, sometimes even weekends.

Today is the mid autumn festival, I do crave for a chang, but what I want more is to spend time with my family, with mum and dad. I’ve not been a good child, for I was not around last weekend for father’s day as I was off for an even in Genting Awana. Today will be sort of like a replacement celebration. I need to spend more time with them.

I hope I will be able to leave early today to beat the jam. Let’s hope things does not go against me in my meetings and especially the traffic tonight.

Happy father’s day dad.

Chilli Pan Mee

Posted under Food

I was first tagged by Wennnn on this and then day-dreamer. So day-dreamer, I have actually been tagged just not done yet. Nevertheless I will do this for food is heaven. Those who knows me will know that I like food, especially good ones which I have to travel to just eat an over priced bowl of food and get mocked by the owner sometimes for being impatient or some other things. Another thing is, I always break the rules, so this will have to do and there will be no tagging, however if you would like to tell me of your favourite food in your state of country or even the world, just let me know and do it. I will come and drool over it, promise.

At first glance, it looks like your average pan mee, but after adding the most important ingredient, it automatically turns out to be chilli pan mee, which is a must. The amount is up to you but for me, two to three big spoonfuls are great. The so called chilli is made from dried chilli and other chillies, I think, all put together and grounded, mashed, blended. Actually that is just what I think, if you really want to know, try and ask the owner, but I doubt he will give you the recipe.

I have been there many times before and in the course of time, I did bring some of my friends there. The location of the place is in Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman or batu road if you are like me, a little old inside. Actually I’m not sure of the road name, any way if you come from Jalan Tun Razak or Lebuhraya Mahameru, take the exit to the Bulatan Pahang. At the roundabout, make a turn into Jalan Pahang, the road opposite the road to Tawakal. Go straight from there until you reach a Honda showroom, which is just before the crossroad where Maju Junction is. Turn in right after the Honda showroom, and then take a left turn after that and you will see a shop called Kin Kin. Looking for parking is quite a hassle especially on a weekday. Normally I will park into an open air parking on the right before turning left to the shop, but you got to pay of coz on weekdays.

Every time I go there, I will just sit at any table and wait. You actually don’t need to. They will come to you with herbal tea of the day and ask if you want or not and give a glass to you if you want or bring other drink for you if you wish. As for the main course, they will automatically bring you a bowl when it’s your turn. Normally we’d tell them to bring an extra bowl as normally one bowl is not enough, but then again, if you are there for the first time, try it out first, for if it’s not the stomach free space, the chilli will determine the next bowl.

I have got to say, it’s really spicy and hot, so put the red stuff in with caution. And another word of advice, if you are impatience or do not like unfriendly services then you should stay away from this place. If you are unlucky and it’s a weekday, you may see people waiting at the side of every table in the shop or you may need to share tables.

Now I’ll leave you with the photos of the food.
Hey you, don’t drool on the keyboard la… tsk tsk tsk!

This move was supposed to be on 6th June 2007. I know I’m late, and there is no excuse. I did the globe before that, and now I will post this, though late but better than not. I first posted this last year for the first time and I find that it is a small effort which we may not even be getting anywhere.

If you want to know more, you can hope on to Mimi Lenox’s site or the official site for Blogblast for Peace. I’m really lazy, so you have to find them from my links.

I may not be the right person to say this, still I wish for peace throughout the world. May the wars, conflict, and everything bad ends so the emergence of peace is felt and embraced by all

Let’s fly the globes not only in the blogs or the sky, but most importantly in our hearts!

Posted under Everyday Life & Me & Steed & Work

Since steed’s resting and still ongoing operation, I had to borrow my brother’s car. Since I’m so used to an auto, a manual proofed to be a little obstacle but not a big one. I guess its just mind over matter and I have been cruising in a manual one for many years before Steed come into my life. I’m counting down the days to see Steed again, and I really can’t wait. It’s just different.

I was having a discussion with a colleague in Starbucks yesterday morning and there was this new drink. The name is Azuki frappuccino, and it’s not bad at all. And another thing I learned today is eating coffee beans. I know you would normally drink coffee and not eat the beans as it is. The barista was kind enough to give us some bean that was ready to be made into coffee. I find it quite nice, though a little bitter but it was like crunchy. I guess there’s a new snack around, coffee beans, especially from Starbucks!

I’m in need of rest and a little time from civilization. I’m spending most of my time in the office now with scheduled and unscheduled meetings and discussions. That leaves me with virtually no time to even touch my phone to make calls or even short messaging. I guess I should not be complaining at all, for it’s better that there’s work than none, though I have to say sorry to the short messages and calls that I could not pick up and answer. I hope situation will get better and I will be able to execute things that I am used to doing sometime before this.

Now, back to my projects, I’ve got a race against time.

This is annoying me. What is happening? This is about blogspot. Why whenever I click on the post a comment link, it pops up a new window for comments and directs the existing page to the same comment page. It’s not totally wrong, but why! If you already pops up a new window for it, I don’t need to see it again on the main page.

Well anyway, that is just me, I’m getting annoyed over many many things of late. Anyway do you people face the same problem?

Steed’s going into another operation again later today that is if my leave is going to be approved. This time the operation will take about four days.
