Going to work today did pose some uneasy feeling, as I have never started work so early before. Normally I would have taken days that I myself would lose count. The unbearable feeling became heavier as I think of the way I have, or we have been treated over the course of the last month or two.
However today proved something else, as my new boss came in, though the other bad one is still there but just added a layer of protection between us. Like usual, productivity is not as high as many are still on leave.
The start of the afternoon saw some changes to the mood as one came with a deck of cards but I refused as it clearly goes against the code of conduct to gamble in the office especially during office hours. However after a few persuasions, I gave in, but then not to the deck of cards but to three buckets of beer.
It’s also a first to drink during the hours though outside, and like usual, Pavilion was the place again. Now, you know you are still in Chinese New Year mode when you start drinking beer for tea time round 4 and get drunk by the time dinner comes.
I am starting to feel a lot livelier despite the happenings that bring down my feelings. Chinese New Year is a time to be jolly indeed.
Well, there’s always a first to many things and I believe that drinking and drunken this early in a day in a week is not just a onetime affair. Well, cheers to the Tiger and Carls for the tipsy start of the ratty year.
Hope you are having a great time and may this year brings forth the best in life for everyone. Yes everyone including you, you and you.
