Arcade After Lunch

Went for lunch and then ended up in the arcade center during lunch just now. It’s been some time since I went to the arcade, well not that long, considering I had a session with a very good friend of mine some time back. It’s was really great to spend some time playing games in the arcade, rather than playing computer and console games.

I remember that when I used to be younger, we’d frequent the arcade, mainly coz of the company of friends. Another point to note is the simulation games and the bigger screens that the arcade provides. I used to play dance dance revolution, time crisis, dj mix, and some of the other arcade games like street fighter. Those were happy times and very enjoyable too.

Today I did not play any games but rather watched some of my colleagues indulged themselves in time crisis 3 and I helped one of them with gears and horn while he was playing 18 wheeler. It was fun and the laughter, well it does more than just a laugh to make you happy, if you know what I mean.

Apart from that is the normal agenda to scout around for new games and also the players, well, girls. It’s incredible how the revolution of arcade has become. They have more simulation games especially the dancing ones. Not to mention is a group of students, in t shirts of coz, dancing and playing the simulation games. The shooting games also made it far with silent scope and time crisis.

It’s been sometime since I had such a good laugh. It was refreshing to dwell in the world of arcades, and the laughter that I got from these colleagues of mine, they brightened up the me inside, which is well needed at this time.

So do you go to the arcades?

Juwita Suwito At Alexis 14th April 2007

When I saw her name in the email from that I got from Alexis, I know that my weekend would be spent there. Eventually I booked a table on both Friday and Saturday, to see her perform, but then I only managed to go on Saturday only. She released her album earlier in February entitled “For Real” and of coz I can’t miss this chance to grab her album and pestered for a signature on the CD like I did the last time.

It was her first full performance since the launch of her album and like always, it was a blast. This time I sat real close right in front, the first row from the stage. It was the ordinary two set performance with her powerful vocals and meaningful lyrics.

The song that was performed was from both her previous and latest album as well as some other songs by other artists. Those songs are “Destiny’s Calling”, “Ordinary World”, “Beautiful Lies”, “Mencintaimu”, “Only In The Dark”, “Desperado”, “For Once In My Life”, “Leading Change”, “All This Time”, “Because Of You”, “Walking Again”, “Teman Sejati”, “What’s On Your Mind”, “Walk Away”, “I Feel The Earth Move” and few more which I could not recall the name. Oh, and there was birthday dedications too and when she sang the birthday song, I over heard a remark that it sounds so beautiful when she sings it, no doubt about it.

The band consist of the Alena Tan on piano, Mozad on base, Wagner on drums, Andrew Lau on Guitar and another guitarist which I could not remember his name for he is new to the band, well at least from the last performance that I went to. A remarkable band and of coz Juwita is very friendly. However I did not stay till late which I normally do, one reason being gulping a bottle of wine alone does not really make me any less drowsy as sleeping time draws near.

It was a really great performance and well, my dear waiter cut his hair short, he used to have very long hair, longer than mine. Well, thanks Ted, it’s nice to see you again and your service and other are always good. Next week is Sharizan Borhan, a jazz and swing singer, on the 20th and 21st. I wonder if I’d be there again.

Well, I did not go for Sharizan’s gig, which I’m sure it’s a good one. Dinners on both day so that’s why I did not manage to go.

I love music
My soul loves music

Song – Everything I Do (I Do It For You)
Artists – Bryan Adams

Look into my eyes - you will see
What you mean to me
Search your heart - search your soul
And when you find me there you’ll search no more

Don’t tell me it’s not worth trying for
You can’t tell me it’s not worth dying for
You know it’s true
Everything I do - I do it for you

Look into your heart - you will find
There’s nothing there to hide
Take me as I am - take my life
I would give it all - I would sacrifice

Don’t tell me it’s not worth fighting for
I can’t help it - there’s nothing I want more
Ya know it’s true
Everything I do - I do it for you

There’s no love - like your love
And no other - could give more love
There’s nowhere - unless you’re there
All the time - all the way

Oh - you can’t tell me it’s not worth trying for
I can’t help it - there’s nothing I want more
Yeah, I would fight for you - I’d lie for you
Walk the wire for you - ya I’d die for you

Ya know it’s true
Everything I do - I do it for you

I am no good with dates or time or anything that deal with specific instances, that’s all I can say. But I remember the first and only time that I have made a dedication on radio, a number of years ago. Yes, it’s this particular song, which was chosen not what I wanted, “Everything I Do ( I Do It For You ). I remember I called in to Aldeena of Mix fm past eight in the evening and the dedication was heard after the dinner.

I know I have been away for a while and I want to make this one the first after all this. This song reminds me of a lot of fond memories which I do not share but within my heart.

Come into my life
After your searching
Rise with my hand
Enlightened me with your words
Nourish me with your care
Illuminate my path
Light my soul
Open the door
Venturing into the realm of Love
Experiencing the wonders
You’re entitled for
Overcome the fears
Unearth the love, our love

Steed’s Condition 02042007
Expressed by zeroimpact on Tuesday, 3rd April, 2007, 92, 14 at 16:53:44 953

Posted under Joy & Me & Steed

It has been three hours and I’m waiting for Steed’s return. Apparently things are for the better as Steed has been cleaned and not much damage was reported. Finally, Steed got back a little more than four hours of repair work. I only concern now is the chip. The water from the air conditioning piping may have damaged it but I will not know until a further test a month or two down the road, literally.

I was basically helpless during that period of time, as I could not do anything to help nor even see what the condition was like. Normally I would get to, but this time Steed was sent to another location for this operation. I’m just glad things are better than it looks or expected.

As I was waiting there, during that four hours, it rained three times. I love the rain and there was an air conditioned room, but I choose to roam and stand outside watching the rain fall down to the earth. The air is so much different from the cooling room, it’s fresh and breezy. Not that cold but cool and breezy. It made me feels comfortable, made me feel young, remembering the days when I play in the rain.

I can’t explain that feeling, but I’d trade the most expensive air conditioning unit I can afford just to get that feeling again, even just once. It’s just one of those unexplained feelings. Thanks to all your well wishes, Steed’s better now, you guys and gals are just wonderful people.

Out of all these, I’d like to apologize to all that I have or may have pissed of these two days. I assure you that the intention is surely not there. I felt the intention of a tear this very instance…

Genting Two Days In A Row
Expressed by zeroimpact on Friday, 30th March, 2007, 88, 13 at 17:49:47 992

Posted under Joy & Me & My Thoughts

I’m not sure if I’m a nut or what. This happened last weekend. Went uphill to Genting last week, not once, but twice. Went for a drink in there and then came back and worked the next day. Another trip after work and put a night there.

It seems to me that nothing much has changed, and yet, so much has changed. It’s ironic too, I know. The weather does not really seem that cold anymore from when I was there ten or even twenty years ago.

One day I went up to just have a chat and a drink, then the next day, went for a meal or two and chat and then sleep. I do not really find the place that interesting from the previous experiences but then the company did make a difference.

That night we just ate, went for a walk and then got back to the room and bath. After that we watched some stuff on the laptop and then went to sleep. Well, basically we just slept as we were tired from working. The next morning went downhill to have dim sum and then I had dinner with my family.

How things changed.
How time changed.

Song – Dilemma
Artists – Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland

I love and I need you
Nelly, I love you, I do
Need you

No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
Boy, you know I’m crazy over you
No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
You know I’m crazy over you

Uh-uh-uh-uh
I met this chick and she just moved right up the block from me
And she got the hots for me, the finest thing I need to see
But oh, no, no, she got a man and a son, oh-oh, but that’s okay
‘Cause I wait for my cue and just listen, play my position
Like a shortstop, pick up everything mami hittin’
And in no time I better make this friend mine and that’s for sure
‘Cause I-I never been the type to break up a happy home
But there’s something ‘bout baby girl, I just can’t leave her ‘lone
So tell me, ma, what’s it gonna be
She said, “You don’t know what you mean to me,” come on

No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
Boy, you know I’m crazy over you
No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
You know I’m crazy over you

Uh-uh-uh-uh
I see a lot in your look and I never say a word
I know how niggas start actin’ trippin’ , and hate up all the girls
And there’s no way Nelly go for it
Ain’t fuckin’ with no dame, as you could see
But I-I like your steeze, your style, your whole demeanor
The way you come through and holler, and swoop me in his two-seater
Now that’s gangsta and I got special ways to thank ya, don’t you forget it
But it ain’t that easy for you to back up and leave him
But you and me we got ties for different reasons
I respect that and right before I turned to leave
She said, “You don’t know what you mean to me,” come on

No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
Boy, you know I’m crazy over you
No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
You know I’m crazy over you

Sing it for me, K
I love and I need you
Nelly, I love you, I do
And it’s more than you’ll ever know
Boy, it’s for sure
You can always count on my love
Forever more, yeah, yeah
East coast, I know you’re shakin’ right
Down south, I know you’re bouncin’ right
West coast, I know you’re walkin’ right
(‘Cause you don’t know what you mean to me)
Midwest, I see you swingin’ right

No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
Boy, you know I’m crazy over you
No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
You know I’m crazy over you

East coast, I know you’re shakin’ right
Down south, I know you’re bouncin’ right
West coast, I know you’re walkin’ right
(You don’t know what you mean to me)
Midwest, I see you swingin’ right
East coast, you’re still shakin’ right
Down south, I know you’re bouncin’ right
West coast, I know you’re walkin’ right
(You don’t know what you mean to me)
Midwest, you’re still swingin’ right

No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
Boy, you know I’m crazy over you
No matter what I do
All I think about is you
Even when I’m with my Boo
You know I’m crazy over you

Yeah, yeah
East coast, I know you’re shakin’ right
Down south, I know you’re bouncin’ right
West coast, I know you’re walkin’ right
(You don’t know what you mean to me)
Midwest, I see you swingin’ right
East coast, you’re still shakin’ right
Down south, I know you’re bouncin’ right
West coast, I know you’re walkin’ right
(You don’t know what you mean to me)
Midwest, you’re still swingin’ right

This songs brings back a lot of memories, a song that really hit it with most every back then. The catchy ahhh at the start catches the attention and then as the vocal kicks, it just makes and impact with such lyrics to start with. Then as the rap starts, the song just seems to give you a little confusion in genre perspective. This song was really a hit and you can hear it almost anywhere and I really like the catchy music with the ahhhh everywhere and the blend of voices with a change of genre and a nice bass at the background.

It does make me search for a while, replaying some flashback and videos of the past. I’m smiling now as I’m sitting here writing things. Those memories that I still keep in me, replays once in a while unconsciously, out of the blue. I think that is the beauty of it as it comes unannounced, at a random time, out of the blue, just to surprise me with a smile.

Mesmerizing my heart
You gave me life
Losing you and everything
Only permitted and allowed
Vagueness, consuming my soul
Entering my body, scarring my heart
Living off the dreams
In the sea of imaginations
Surrounded by purple lavenders
A fantasy I will always and surely keep

Roger Kwok And Jessica Hester Hsuan – Life Made Simple

Song – Life Made Simple
Artists – Roger Kwok And Jessica Hester Hsuan

I was suddenly being caught by the tv, well Astro to be exact. I it’s just a short scene of a very popular Cantonese drama called life made simple, which stars Ah Wong. I think you all know which one it is, I hope.

It was the scene where Ah Wong came out of the surgery room and consciousness and blurted out that he is going to marry his little wife. Ah Wong is actually a special character as he is an adult but he has the mind and thinking of a child while his little wife is a normal adult.

In preparation of their wedding, he chose a set of traditional Chinese wedding costumes and decorated his bicycles. They rode on this bicycle in those Chinese costumes, sending out wedding invitations to all the neighbours around them.

What catches me is the happiness that is portrayed. They may not be the richest people. They may not be the most beautiful people. They may not be the most normal people at all. The scene left me smiling as I proceeded to bath after that short scene.

Though it’s just a drama and well, does life mimics it or does it mimics life. I think most of the drama and movies mimics life for they normally portrays society and only a handful comes from true imagination.

Now you tell me
Isn’t life beautiful
Don’t complicate
Isn’t life made simple

Your Hidden Talent

You have the power to persuade and influence others. You’re the type of person who can turn a whole room around.

The potential for great leadership is there, as long as you don’t abuse it.

Today’s the eve of the traditional Chinese New Year. A tradition that has been carried on thousands of years ago. This is celebrated worldwide by all Chinese observing the lunar calendar. I watch Fox News yesterday and they were talking about the citizen in China trying to get home for this event and the words that caught me was, that it’s the largest migration and it was equivalent to the population of Russia.

Tonight, the eve of Chinese New Year, we have the traditional reunion dinner, where all the members of the family gather and sit down to have dinner. During this dinner, everyone would just gather and have a warm meal, no matter what is served, but the company of our loved ones. To me, it does not matter if the dishes are just simple dishes or exquisite dishes, but the presence of every member of the family sitting down to have dinner.

I find that a lot of us have forgotten this. We take things for granted most of the time. Truth be said that this reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year is a yearly occasion, but we should try to make every just like it, just sitting down with the family, may be dinner, lunch or even tea.

During the olden days, every family would spend time to cook for dinner. Everyone would help mum, doing whatever they can. And I can tell you the process is so much more rewarding than the dinner itself. Nowadays, we have opted for dinner at restaurant to eliminate the chores of cleaning up and so that it does not tired those especially if they are working even on the eve of Chinese New Year.

I am home now, and will be having my dinner with my family, my dearest and loved ones. Here I wish all of you a hearty reunion dinner for all my Chinese friends and family and a Happy Chinese New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai! To all my friends that are not celebrating this festive event, have a great holiday if you get one, have a great weekend and have good meals all the time with your loved ones.

Happy Chinese New Year!
Gong Xi Fa Cai!
